BREWERY REVIEW: Maine Beer Company

Maine Beer Company

Atmosphere: The atmosphere in the newly renovated Maine Beer is really impressive. They have both indoor seating and an outdoor patio, both of which have a very modern aesthetic. Inside, there is a real clean, minimalist look. They have a large bar and a pizza kitchen with seating at the lower level as well as on the balcony overlooking the bar.

Service: A host greets you at the door and will bring you to a table, if it is open. Once you are seated, you have that table for an hour and a half. It is probably not a bad idea to go online and reserve a table before you actually get to the brewery, Maine Beer is a pretty popular place. You order your beers and pizzas at the bar and service is pretty prompt.

Variety/Styles of Beer: Maine Beer Company is best known for their IPA, Lunch. While that beer is delicious, their other offerings are equally as good. I enjoy “Another One” IPA which is a crisp, fruity IPA but they also have a mix of pale ales and stouts. They also have a rotating “Black Barn” Program that spans the gamut of beer styles, from blonde ales to oatmeal stouts.

Overall Thoughts/Recommendations: Maine Beer is required visiting if you are in search of authentic, excellent craft beer. When people think about what they like about the Maine craft beer scene, a lot of the things that come to mind are things that Maine Beer does really well. Their beer is incredibly good and incredibly consistent. Maine Beer is also incredibly philanthropic and supports a number of local conservation initiatives. They are an incredibly easy brewery to like, they just “Do what’s right”.
