BREWERY REVIEW: Woodland Farms Brewery

Woodland Farms Brewery

Atmosphere: Woodland Farms is quickly becoming one of my ‘go-to’ brewery stops when I am looking to have a beer or two. The brewery is super laid back and they produce some great beer. The overall vibe inside the brewery is kind of like your cool uncle’s basement. There is ample seating at the bar and at tables around the room. It is a great mix of intimate and social. There are also two televisions in the brewery; one was on the Red Sox game and the other was on AMC playing a black and white movie.

Service: The service was excellent. The bartenders were super attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. They shared just the right amount of information about each beer so that I could make an informed choice about my next selection. They also asked if we wanted some fresh popped popcorn which was a great compliment to the brews.

Variety/Styles of Beer: The cool thing about Woodland Farms is that they have a wide variety of beer styles, including non-alcoholic offerings. They have the first non-alcoholic hazy IPA in Maine (which tastes like an IPA and not hop tea). Along with the IPA they have a non-alcoholic White and Sour.

As for the alcoholic craft beers, they had a few IPAs, a pale ale, a Berliner Weisse, a Sour and a Mexican Lager. I went with Vanguard, a hazy IPA that was double dry-hopped with Cashmere and Azacca hops. It really delivered on the hoppiness and was incredibly drinkable for a 7.6% beer.

Overall Thoughts/Recommendations: I think that it is pretty clear that I am a fan of Woodland Farms. The beers are tasty, the service is great and the atmosphere is conducive to tipping a few back. I really cannot think of a better place to grab a drink after a busy day shopping for deals at the Kittery Outlets.
